I know I know, the correct term is “Sidecar” not “Cidecar” but I created this cocktail with Apple Cider… hence the name “Apple Cidecar”
On a recent visit to my neighborhood liquor store, I was intrigued by the variety of “featured” liquor they had on display at the front counter. I’ve been meaning to replenish my bar area at home, so I challenged myself to visit every week and purchase whatever liquor was “featured” at the front register. No matter what it is, I’m going to buy it and create a specialty drink recipe for Arli’s Appetite. This week one of the “featured” items was Paul Masson “Grande Amber” Brandy. I love a classic Sidecar, but I decided to make this one with an apple twist.
What you need:
3 oz Apple Cider
1 1/2 oz Brandy
1/2 oz Triple Sec or Cointreau
1/2 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice or sweet & sour mix
Pour all ingredients into a standard shaker
Add Ice
Shake 5-10 times
Pour into glass (Martini Glass, Highball Glass)
Garnish with two thin slices of apple
*Serves 3 but can be consumed by 1 – drink now or save for later
